American rockers Journey have gone down in history after their hit Don’t Stop Believin’ was named the number one single of the 20th Century.

The group’s catchy tune has seen a boost in popularity in recent years after the stars of Glee performed the 1980’s track on its first season in 2009.

The bandmembers performed live on the streets of New York as part of Today’s Summer Concert Series and they were presented with a special plaque to commemorate the feat, which was certified by analysts at media research company Nielsen SoundScan.

Friday was also a big day for fans of 80’s icons Debbie Gibson and I Think We’re Alone Now star Tiffany. The pop duo entertained crowds at Central Park on Good Morning America.

  1. Very glad for Arnel he deserves a good life! BUT! for me there is only one lead singer for Journey, and that’s the great Steve Perry. Remember Neal Steve put your band on the music map and you should kiss his ass everyday for that!
