The indefatigable Journey is scheduled to return to the New Orleans Arena on September 10, 2011 as part of an extensively worldwide tour in support of its forthcoming album, “Eclipse.” Foreigner and Night Ranger are also on the bill, which, from the looks of it, will approximate tuning in to WRNO-FM circa 1986.

No word on when tickets go on sale.
Guitarist Neal Schon, bassist Ross Valory and keyboardist Jonathan Cain remain from the classic mid-1980s Journey lineup that yielded “Don’t Stop Believin,” “Faithfully,” “Stone In Love” and other enduring rock radio anthems. They are joined by drummer Deen Castronovo and Philippines-born vocalist Arnel Pineda, whose high tenor is at times eerily reminiscent of former Journey vocalist Steve Perry.
“Eclipse” is to be released on May 24 exclusively through Wal-Mart.
Journey performed a sold-out show at the New Orleans Arena in September 2009. Journey sold more tickets in New Orleans than either Coldplay or Green Day did that year.
