“I’m in love with this record.” – N. Schon
Because we love space-themed LP covers … and sweeping, synth-driven rock jams … and ’80s-defining hairstyles … and songs we know by heart: We will welcome Journey back to Denver with Open Arms this fall.
And by Denver we mean Greenwood Village and it’s behemoth shed, Comfort Dental Amphitheatre. Journey will headline the 18,000-seat amphitheater on Oct. 1 in support of “Eclipse,” its latest record, which will go on sale exclusively at Walmart, natch! on May 24.
“I’m in love with this record, which I haven’t said about one of our albums for a long time,” founding member and lead guitarist Neal Schon said in press materials. “It’s a rock record and it sounds amazing.”
The band will play its new jams alongside the hits on the Eclipse Tour, which features Foreigner and Night Ranger opening. Devil horns up for all of “Sister Christian,” now. Talk about an ’80s mega-bill.
“We’ve got a lot of hits to play and there’s plenty of time to do some new stuff too, so we’re gonna mix it up,” Schon said in reference to the Eclipse Tour. “We haven’t toured with Foreigner for over 10 years, so we’re really looking forward to this run.”
