Melodic Rock Concerts » Journey and Def Leppard May Take a Break

Journey has logged over 140 concerts on their ongoing Revelation tour since it began last spring. According to guitarist Neal Schon’s blog, the band will be taking some time off next year to work on a new album. In a post titled “Last 10 of 2009 & 2010“, Schon stated: “Looks like we will be taking some time off…will be working on new music – come out while were still out here.” Luckily, hundreds of thousands of Journey fans have done just that over the past couple years, and they’ve witnessed a band revitalized by frontman Arnel Pineda. His wild stage antics and remarkable vocal capacity coupled with a tighter than ever Schon, funkier than ever Ross Valory, and a more aggressive than ever Deen Castronovo has made for quite a tour indeed.

Journey will appear on the Oprah Winfrey Show October 2nd, in support of a concert DVD titled “Live in Manila“. The DVD will be released that same day, but you can pre-order it right now.

Def Leppard has also been touring tirelessly for several consecutive years, but another leg of the Sparkle Lounge tour is in order this fall before the band takes a break next year. More tour dates have been released this week, and you can obtain access to exclusive pre-sales through the Def Leppard fan club. Cheap Trick and Man Raze are the openers for this leg. Man Raze is the band started several years ago by Leppard guitarist Phil Collen.
